Wounded Knee, South Dakota 57794

The memorial is a shrine with a bill board describing the event very even handedly. It has some primitive structures for ceremonies. The graveyard is on the hill and can be visited. Some resident watch for visitors to sell crafted items. The poverty in the area is reflected in this memorial.

This is a very important place and everyone should learn the true history of it.

The site of one of America's largest holocaust. Worth the visit. Please be humble.

The historical significance is very high but there is little to see or explain the tragic events that occurred here. Panhandlers detract from the reverence of the place. Visit the museum just outside of Wall, SD.

Such an important place of remembrance and shame for the massacre of so many Lakota. Really wish there were interpretive information here about both 1890 and 1973... That said, the Oglala Lakota College in Kyle SD has a fantastic audio/photo show that shouldn't be missed!
